Recently at my seminars in Hungary and Romania I became aware how much the current economic crisis was part of most blaming and explaining.
Of course this is happening in most countries of the world but what it made different here was that both countries only a few years ago had been communist countries with long lines everywhere, only low quality products very limited freedom to move a.s.o.
This was a very obvious example of our very susceptibleness to the “Sickness of NOW”. Different than in the bestseller “The power of NOW” I see everywhere that people get sick because they take little events in the Present – out of context and without relativity to past and future. Here for example the Hungarians and Romanians that have seen hundred times worse conditions are now depressed and worried because in the moment business is relatively smaller than last year.
The same happens to all of us, despite the fact that we all have experienced very deep shocks in our life we still get bad days because our neighbor has parked in front of our garage, the boss has not treated us with the right words, a traffic jam is keeping us waiting, the tax has increased a few dollars and another thousand events in the NOW that spoil our NOW only because we do not remember much worse events in the past.
THE POWER OD NOW sounds as good and is as good a seller as any ideal compromise that combines all polarities and promises only a state of perfect ease, that has gone beyond polarity. As a result we buy the book, agree to the theory and judge us that we cannot live up to this idea or bath in the imagination that we have reached it.
DLE also in this respect can give a practical way to make this dilemma useful and understandable. In fact we have to live in the polarity of EXTENDED IN TIME – versus – NOWNESS. In many situations it is just advisable to live the NOW as it is in other situations useful to remember past events or imagine the immenseness of future events and possibilities.
To live both polarities not passively but actively with an awareness and experience when to live which polarity is the key and the challenge to create the DLE.
We are hungry to have this sense of NOWNESS and URGENCY but are mostly misguided to generate it by always carry a cell-phone, listen to the latest news and disasters from all the media.
If we do not have a burning problem right now we worry about the Amazonas rainforest – although I can guarantee he has a much better chance to survive than you or me or the human race :
